Children's health rights in Shari´Éh
Abstract
According to the Islamic teachings, human beings are the most respected and important creature in the universe. Therefore, Islam gives each human being a set of basic rights that are enjoyable from birth to death. In terms of different stages of human life, a person is granted a number of rights in childhood. And as rights and obligations are reciprocal, these rights form obligations of parents, teachers, and the state itself. This article specifically discusses the children's rights pertaining to health in Islam, which include breastfeeding, circumcision, prevention of infectious diseases, healthy food and etc. This article also discusses the factors affecting children’s health, and the responsibilities of parents and state towards ensuring the health of the children.
