Analysis of Islamiyat Curriculum in the Light of Quran with Special Reference to Prophets and Messengers Preaching in the Accuracy of Aqidah Tauheed
Abstract
Islam is a religion of peace and truth. And Allah Almighty liked and preferred it for mankind. Thus, HE sent Messengers and Prophets to every nation for preaching and guiding them to the right path in order keeping them aware of the true beliefs and rules regulations. All Messengers and Prophets preached the main belief of serving Allah Almighty alone. Even though Muslim countries have its curriculum including Islamiyat through which they impart Islamic beliefs and values, but the present condition of Muslim Ummah reveals that there is no unity among them. There is controversy among Muslim Ummah about the main belief of Tawheed. Different sects have diverse approaches through which they associate pious servants in the oneness of Allah Almighty. So, the present study was conducted qualitative in nature for which the thematic method was used. The Discourse analysis framework was employed by the researchers for describing, interpreting, and explaining themes and its presentation in the National Curriculum of Islamiyat (2006) for class III-X. Data were collected from the holy Quran. Findings of the study reveal that all Messengers and Prophets preached oneness of Allah almighty and there was no difference found in the basic belief of oneness. General objectives of the National Curriculum of Islamiyat 2006 for class III-X were found about Tawheed and Akhlaq-i-Kareeama of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), but Messengers’ and Prophets’ Tawheed message were not incorporated in it. It is recommended that unification regarding the basic belief of oneness of Allah Almighty is the need of the day and may be included in the general objectives of the National curriculum of Islamiyat 2006.
Keywords: Quran, Aqedah Tawheed, Prophets’ messages, National Curriculum 2006.
