Principles and Rules For Deduction of the Four ImÉms Study and Investigation
Abstract
The Islamic shar’īyah has determined man's rights and responsibilities. To be conscious of and practice in life these laws of rights and responsibilities is of utmost importance for a Muslim. We have been apprised of these through the Qur´ān and ×adīth and such laws have been derived by the scholars of Fiqah (Islamic jurisprudence) in the light of the Qurān and Hadīth and presented to us in the form of Fiqah.
In this article an introduction of the famous four (Ayemma) has been made and each Imām's principles of Fiqah(Islamic jurisprudence) have been separately discussed. This is so because each Imām's principles of Fiqah are different from the others. These are known as the principles of Fiqah (Islamic jurisprudence). It will be clear as to how each Imām adopted his unique way of deriving these laws and principles from the Qurān and Hadīth; moreover, which terminology used and which touchstones fixed for the derivation of these laws.
Key words: Qurān, Fiqah, Islamic jurisprudence, Imām, shar’īyah, terminology, principles.
